DISCOVER

Over the last 20 years, Rock Materials has built their reputation as the industry leader when it comes to price, service and customer experience. But often overlooked, is their attention to detail. No detail is too small or insignificant. Don’t believe us? Take a look at the sign they commissioned to be featured in their brand new showroom. We love making signs…. ALL kinds of signs! But, if you want to know what really gets us going? Clients who trust us to execute their vision. It’s an honor we don’t take lightly. We’re not here to get i45 Signs’ name on some map somewhere. We’re here to guide you to the best solution(s) to achieve your goals. Sometimes that might be a simple yard sign. Other times it’s a custom, one-off, one of a kind, wood sign with “reverse halo” lit dimensional letters and a remote controlled (color changing) LED system 🙂

DESIGN

After Rock Materials finished their showroom re-model (we highly recommend a visit) they invited us in to dream about a sign that would not only fit their aesthetic, but stand out among their competitors. After hearing their “wish list” we went to work. We liked the idea of using as many natural materials as possible (i.e. wood, stone etc.) After a few back-and-forths, we all landed on the same concept. A wooden panel, against the existing natural stone on the front of the desk. The panel would feature their logo. We all agreed that we didn’t want the sign to completely blend into the room, but that it should also be an obvious feature and help lead their visitors to this area when they had questions or were ready to speak to a salesperson.

DELIVER

We were able to acquire a wooden panel from the carpenter who installed the desktop counter in this same space. This ensured a perfect match and tied in with what had already been built. The wood against the natural stone was a “ding ding ding” winner. We hope you agree…. The Rock Materials logo was CNC router cut from satin black aluminum and installed to the wooden panel with a 1” offset spacer. Each letter is individually wired with RGB LED modules and wired through the face of the sign. This was the most tedious aspect of this project and hopefully it goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyway… Worth it! Installing anything to natural stone is challenging because of the irregular surface. Once we jumped that hurdle and got the sign in place, we wired it up, got the lights going and finished the whole thing off with some matte black decorative “T-Knob” hardware that we special ordered. These really iced the “natural/industrial” cake we were trying to bake the entire time. Mmmmmm…cake!
